Tryst with Music
Staying in the moment
Jaba is a member of the Neemrana Music Foundation Choir and training to be an alto singer. She has performed in the French opera - Child and the Spells by Maurice Ravel, Veronique, a Spanish Operetta, The Republic of Love, Thalie in India. Operatic music hones her skill to listen deeply and connect to others while holding her own ground, in a way she had never imagined earlier.
In love with Yoga & Walkathons
Achieving oneness of body & mind
Yoga is another passion that allows her to connect to self and heightens her self awareness. The brisk walk every morning and occasional marathons (read walkathons) are also a "must do" in her calendar for her physical and emotional well-being.
Venu Menon Animal Allies Foundation (VMAAF)
Honouring a cause
Jaba is the co- founder of an NGO, VMAAF, established in honour of her late husband, Venu Menon. The foundation presented National Awards to unsung heroes working in animal welfare/ conservation and hosted a Memorial Lecture by eminent personalities like Virginia McKenna, David Shepherd for 10 years. Maneka Gandhi, Indian Cabinet Minister was the keynote speaker each year.
Practising Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism
In pursuit of self-change
She is a practitioner of Daishonin's Buddhist philosophy and an honorary leader of Bharat Soka Gakkai, the Indian affiliate of Soka Gakkai International (SGI), dedicated to peace, education & culture. Her quest for self-discovery, ability to honour every individual, her belief that everyone has the potential of translating their “inner core” attributes into “outer-core” skills and competencies, stems from her spiritual evolution over two decades.
